Saint Gregory's University College for Working Adults Celebrates Grand Opening

The grand opening of Saint Gregory's University (SGU) College for Working Adults was held on Monday, September 15, 2003, in Tulsa, OK.
Fr. Lawrence Stasyszen, OSB, President of Saint Gregory's, called the event "a wonderful and historic extension of our University mission and vision as a Catholic and Benedictine institution."
"The twenty new SGU students have a very diverse background in terms of station in life, ethnicity and socio-economic circumstances," Fr. Lawrence stated. "All of them, however, have in common the desire to enrich their lives through the unique education that we offer."
Fr. Lawrence predicts great results will come from the College for Working Adults: "In time, we will have a positive impact not only on them as individuals, but also on the lives of their families and their communities. The culture and economy of our own state - and beyond - will likewise be enhanced through them. This is something about which we can all be proud."
Lawrence also noted that the College for Working Adults will enhance SGU's efforts at the main campus in Shawnee, OK. "The opening of this new endeavor has already fostered positive recognition not only in the Tulsa metropolitan area, but also across the state," he said.
The first class cohort at Saint Gregory's began its program of study on September 16, 2003.
