IPD Celebrates 35 Years!

For 35 years the Institute for Professional Development has provided program development and management consulting services to private colleges and universities interested in expanding or developing their programs for working adults.

Founded in 1973, the Institute for Professional Development was created with the belief that an effective system of higher education for working adults should be made available to every member of the work force if America was to meet the competitive challenges of the twenty-first century. Our distinctive logo, designed to tie in with the theme of "changing the face of education," is composed of the repeating profile of a person's face. This logo was later adopted by Apollo Group, Inc., our parent company.

Thirty-five years ago, IPD began with a handful of employees and a single client. Today, IPD is nearly 500 employees strong and provides educational services to 19 accredited colleges and universities in 19 states, at over 50 campuses and learning centers. We are truly changing the face of education.

IPD continues to grow, innovate, and expand its mission of delivering educational opportunities to working adults. We're proud of the progress we've made, the relationships we've formed, and the wonderful people that make up our organization.
