Institute for Professional Development Aids Baker University with Mock Accreditation Visit
Not everyone knows that IPD offers accreditation support as part of its services to its partner institutions.
As our partner institutions prepare paperwork to offer new programs, move to new locations, or even get ready for their 10-year accreditation evaluations, IPD can provide guidance and consultation.
This was the case on Sept. 23, as the IPD team consisting of Dr. Sue Dietrich, Deanna Boe, Mary Ann Holtz, and Mark McCain concluded a mock accreditation visit for Dr. Pat Long of Baker University in beautiful Baldwin City, Kan.
Not only did the IPD team prepare faculty and staff during face-to-face interview sessions, the team reviewed and made recommendations to Baker University in the form of a comprehensive and extensive self-study entitled, "Building for Sustainability, Baker University: Self-study for Accreditation."
Following IPD's visit, President Pat Long wrote, "Thank you so much for giving of your time and expertise to Baker. Your input to our Self Study Report was insightful and helpful and your feedback from Mock Site Visit was incredibly valuable! I think the challenges and potential concerns you sited are valid. We also appreciated hearing the Strengths (that was most encouraging)."
Baker University has been a partner institution with IPD since 1988. Together, Baker University and IPD provide adult degree programs to 1,200 students in and around the Kansas City metropolitan area. Baker University, affiliated with the United Methodist church, was founded in 1858 and is currently ranked #26 by the U.S. News and World Report among regional universities in the midwest.
Baker University's MBA program is also rated #1 in enrollment by the Kansas City Business Journal. Accreditation support is just one of many services IPD offers to its full service partner institutions that helps build ongoing relationships that benefit colleges and universities throughout the United States.
